Beyond Basics
Art with the Masters Program

  • Focused art instruction in a small group setting where students are taught the techniques of art masters and use these learned skills in their projects.
  • History, geography, and foreign language are integrated into instruction in order to give a holistic art experience.
  • Instructors strive to increase self esteem by recognizing and praising each student's individual style.

Park West Gallery Brings Art to Thirkell

Morris Shaprio, Gallery Director brought along several pieces of artwork by artist, Yaacov Agam and gave a presentation about kinetic art for Thirkell's 5th graders. His presentation focused on Agam's spiritual and mathematical inspirations. Eljonna and Micah enjoying the art experience

"In Beyond Basics, I learned about the famous artist, Pablo Picasso. he was a great artist because he always looked for fresh and new ideas and never wanted to repeat himself. He also made portraits that showed many sided of a person and their persoality all in one picture."
~Eljonna

"I had a good experience with the Beyond Basics ARt with the Masters program. I learned that everyone's art is good even if others don't like it. Your art is your own style, and people can't judge your style."
~Micah
