Excerpt from the Detroit News article: "City's Spirit Permeates 'Dateline' Profile"
"Hansen did highlight a few foot soldiers of hope like Pam Good, who founded a mentoring and tutoring program, Beyond Basics. He also showcased young people who care about others, like Beyond Basics volunteer Khadigah Alasry, 23, and people who, in the face of hardship, keep their families together and remain upstanding and focused on helping others, like Tom and Rhonda Douglas.
The most touching story in "City of Heartbreak and Hope" is that of Cordette Grantling, a woman raising three children abandoned by their parents. Abandoned by her own mother, Grantling carries within her a faith and spirit that remains unbroken. "
