Get Involved

We have a variety of ways you can join us and help the many children in need.

In as little as one hour a week you can make a significant difference.

Be a tutor

And work one-on-one with 1 or more children and help them learn to read!

Be a Reading Buddy

And we will train you in the simple process and have you reading with a child who is being tutored...it is so important for them to practice as they learn to read.

Run a book club

With a group of 6–10 children. Meet once a week for just one hour during the children’s lunch hour.

Publishing Center

Work with a group of other volunteers and help in our Publishing Center in assisting children in publishing their own stories.

Annual Fundraiser

Interested in helping with our Annual Fundraiser? We are always in need of more help. This year it will be held on May 14th, 2010.

Student Volunteers from Lahser High School and International Academy are working very hard on beautiful book covers and coasters for the Beyond Basics' Fundraiser in May. These high school students graciously volunteer their time through out the school year to make book covers for the Publishing Centers.
