When I wake up in the morning I eat porridge or cereal. I share a room with my sister and cousin. I get to school in a taxi (transport). When I am at school, I work during the school periods, then we play at break time. My favourite food is samp and beans, pasta, pizza, African salad.

I am a kind, friendly and respectful person. I respect adults as well as young people. I like to talk to people when they have problems at home. In future I would like to be a Social Worker or Doctor. I like to keep secrets, because it is not good to gossip about other people’s problems.

I have two special friends. Their names are Abulele and Nomaph. Abulele turns fourteen on the 14th of October, and Nomaph turned fourteen on the 12th of February. I trust these friends, because when I tell them something, they don’t gossip about it to other people, and they know what is right and wrong.

My favorite subjects are Mathematics, Life Orientation, Social Sciences, English and Arts & Culture. My favourite teachers are Mr Mtiki, Ms Gwadiso, Mr du Plessis, Mrs Peters and Mrs Afrikander.

On Saturdays I enjoy going to the malls with my friends. I also like to play Netball. I would like to do 1st aid this year, so I will be able to help people when they get hurt, or are sick.

I am a Christian, and go to church every Sunday. We also go on Wednesdays at the New Jesus Apostolic Church in Zion. I love my Church because it teaches me about things that I have experienced in life. I believe that I must stand up for myself, and no one can abuse me or destroy my rights.

My name is Andrique. My birthday is on the 23rd of May, and I am nine years old. I live with my mother Belinda, my father Andre, and my sister Verneë. I have three dogs. Their names are Sandy, Max and Lightening. I like to help my father clean the garden.

When I wake up in the morning, I eat porridge for breakfast before I go to school at Willow Park School. I am doing grade four this year, and my goal is to become a Police Man. I have lots of friends, and my best friends name is Lifa. We like playing together at break time.

I am a Christian, and I believe you can be whatever you want to be as long as you believe in yourself.
