20th Anniversary Gala

In 1999, our CEO, Pam Good walked into a school with a mission to make a difference by delivering coats; what she found was that the students required much more. She set out on a literacy journey that would reach over 5,000 students per year! Due to the persistence, Beyond Basics has published over 75,000 books with children, and given over 30,000 coats to those in need. While the path to eradicating illiteracy hasn’t been easy, it’s been well worth it! Pam once said “a society should be measured by the smiles on its children’s faces.” That mantra has penetrated through the organization in a way that can only be understood by walking into one of our school locations and experiencing the happiness first hand.

We encourage you to join us for our 20th Anniversary Gala on March 1st, at the Detroit Athletic Club. This event will serve as a celebration for all the children (and now adults) that we have been so fortunate to tutor over the years.
