Like a majority of states, Michigan saw student test scores plummet for fourth- and eighth-graders in reading and math between 2019 and 2022, according to national test results released on Monday.

Michigan dropped in state rankings in fourth-grade and eighth-grade reading according to 2022 results from the National Assessment of Educational Progress, also known as The Nation's Report Card, which were released Monday by the U.S. Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics.
